Canne della Battaglia | Park Gates
Archaeological Park and apen-air museum
Canne della Battaglia’s Park Gate corresponds to the area that includes the plain where the famous battle of Hannibal versus the Romans and the surrounding hills including the one that houses the ancient settlement of Canne della Battaglia, the latter is also a geosite.
The visit to the Archaeological Park is divided into two itineraries: the first leads to the main hill of Cannae. The second – on the other side of the road – leads to the early Christian basilica, the Daunian village and the medieval kiln and burial ground. It is served by a train station on the Trenitalia’s Barletta-Spinazzola regional line (both trains and substitute buses).
