Venosa
Venosa is a splendid city full of artistic jewels and fine architecture that can be admired from the moment you enter the town, between the Trinity abbey with its unfinished annex, the nearby archaeological park and the Jewish catacombs.
From the square in front of the majestic Pirro del Balzo castle, home to the National Archaeological Museum, you reach the historic center with suggestive streets, portals and ancient stone fountains, and inscriptions that remind us that Venosa was the birthplace of the Latin poet of the “Carpe Diem “Horace.
The countryside all around the city is characterized by rolling hills where the vineyards from which the Aglianico del Vulture DOC originates are grown.
